Jenny Foulkes

Portland, OR

Jenny Foulkes grew up in a small mountain town on the edge of Los Angeles, California. Living so close to nature, with the buzz of the city near by, greatly influenced how she sees the world: finding inspiration in both nature and industry. “My father is also an artist,” Jenny says, “As a child my home was like one giant Cabinet of Curiosity. Skulls, bird’s nests; any oddity my dad felt moved by covered our walls. He taught me to see the world through an unconventional lens.”

Jenny Foulkes had always been drawn to the tinier, more contained objects of art, be it manmade or natural. This intrigue led her to jewelry making. In 2011 she graduated from Oregon College of Art and Craft with a degree in Metal Arts and now works from her studio in Portland, Oregon.

Driven to make work that is edgy, elegant and unique. Each piece of jewelry Jenny creates with her own hands using traditional metalsmithing techniques. Each stone is carefully chosen. Each ring, bracelet, pendant, and pair of earrings is one of a kind.
Joining reticulated darkened sterling silver with the rich yellow of 18 and 22 karat gold, she creates jewelry that is both fine and precious, earthy and warm; jewelry that recalls the past, yet is utterly contemporary.
